In the manual for AMD RAIDXpert2 in section 4.4.1 (page 53) titled "Installing AMD-RAID Drivers While Installing Microsoft® When I get into the installer it mentions how there are drivers missing.

I also have a formatted SSD that is not part of the array but which I intend to install Windows 10 onto. I have four 1TB HHDs that I have turned into a RAID 0 array using the built-in RAIDXpert2 tool. I've got my BIOS SATA operations set to RAID (they were previously AHCI). I'll just share the relevant points here for my new situation. This all started because I decided that I wanted to turn my four 1TB HDDs into a RAID 0 array which I discussed more in a reddit post. For me at least but I imagine this isn't an uncommon problem. It seems like only Rufus and Microsofts own installer seem to be the ones that work.
Installing windows in AHCI mode and switching will lead to this, there are other options out there that I discussed previously such as safemode booting and switching SATA modes or registry edits.Ģ) If you want to create a Windows installer, you need to have access to a windows machine. It just doens't know where to look for the booting process. The crux of the problem came down to two things.ġ) When switching SATA mode operations in the BIOS, Windows isn't smart enough to detect or deal with it. I picked my empty SSD to install and it went through without a hitch. When in windows you can then install the RAIDXpert2 management suite where you can tweak further settings. It's here where I actually successfully installed the AMD-RAID drivers following their instructions in the manual. When I reached the _pick a drive_ screen, there is a button in the corner to install drivers. I switch back my SATA mode to RAID and boot into the installer now I was actually able to go through the flow of the installer. At this point I'm still in AHCI mode from experimenting. Then on MS download page there was now the option to use their personal windows install creator so I used that, booted into it and it worked. Set up the USB such that the guest OS can use the USB.
